I've been using Cubase for ages but switched to Logic 9 in 2012. Having used this soft for over 10 years, it was time to upgrade. A more recent iMac 27" with Logic Pro X was just perfect for the job. It is the most important piece of kit in my studio.
To get the notes into the DAW, I use a Novation Launchkey mini. Doesn't take much space, plus it has amusing light effects.
A 10 channel Yamaha MG10XU mixing panel acts equally as an external sound card.
Part of my standard equipment is slightly older, but not yet obsolete:
- my Rode NT2-A condenser mic sounds still amazing!
- I don't really need other studio monitors than the Adam-A7's;
- why get rid of my Sennheiser HD 25-1 II-headphones? They sound just right!
Somewhere in between, I managed to buy some vintage stuff; I sold most of the synths I used to play back in the days:
- Roland Alpha Juno 2
- Roland D-20
- Casio CZ-1000
- Kawai K1 module

Then there's the not yet vintage stuff. As far as I'm concerned, these are quite recent:
- Roland JD-XI
- Korg Karma
- Access Virus Rack

I mainly use the sounds provided by Logic, but there are plans to integrate the sounds of these vintage synths in my future songs.
